Developing a Fundraising Strategy for a UK Cancer Charity

Momentum is a Kingston-based charity that aims to help children and their families, undergoing treatment for cancer in Surrey and Greater London. Momentum was set up by parents who have first hand experience of these life-changing events, with the simple goal of trying to help others in similar circumstances.

Momentum is currently scaling up its Family Support Programme by expanding into a second catchment area primarily comprising the London boroughs of Lewisham, Lambeth, Southwark, Bexley, Greenwich, Merton, and Wandsworth.  The project will establish Momentum’s presence in this area, through moving some of its operations to a new location and through distributing information about the Family Support Programme to children with cancer and their families.

Projects-Direct.Net is working with the fundraising team at Momentum to develop tools for fundraising with donors such as Children in Need. Through the practical hands on process of developing a project proposal, Projects-Direct.Net is working with the team to start new proposal writing planning tools, introduce logical framework approaches to a team very strong in traditional fundraising approaches, and start a set of narrative and financial templates that will speed up funding applications in the future.
