Project title : Renforcer le Débat Public de la Société Civil Concernant le Future de l’Espace Public des Medias Marocains 

Client: Media Diversity Institute

Amount awarded to NGO: €270,000 ($350,460)

The outcomes of this project were : 

1. At least 1 national media body will adopt a Media Diversity policy for programming and staff recruitment. At least five national CSOs will adopt a Diversity Policy. 

2. 75 leading opinion formers on media issues and civil rights will have tested their assumptions against the views of citizens and international experts. 

3. Professionals from civil society organisations will have the skills to access the media on behalf of their supporters and demand greater diversity in coverage and staffing. 

4. 75 journalists with no formal qualifications will have gained a background to essential journalistic ethics, and be able to access further information as part of lifelong vocational learning process. 

5. 40 Video Kiosk Programmes to popularise the debate on the media to an audience of 2.5 million viewers. MPs will be aware the public are engaging in a parallel debate on the media and use some these comments in their discussions.
